People ask us this all the time: "Which one should we book?"
It's a fair question. Wayside isn't a hotel where every room is the same room. We've got three genuinely different ways to stay — two farmhouse cottages, a decked-out glamping RV called Blancobreeze, and six full-hookup RV sites — and the right one depends on how you travel and what kind of weekend you're after.
The good news: whichever you pick, you get the same canyon, the same golden-hour sunsets, and the same five-minute drive to the Square. And every guest gets the pool, the pickleball court, the miniature highland cows, and a discount on clubhouse and world class golf simulator! Nobody's stuck with the lesser view. Here's how to choose.
If you want to unpack once and stay put: the Farmhouse Cottages
Our two cottages — Summermoon and Jackrabbit — are for the guest who wants a real front door, a full kitchen, and a west-facing porch to watch the sun drop behind the trees.
These are the rooms people write us about after they leave. Rocking chairs on the porch, good coffee, the canyon going quiet at dusk. Book a cottage if you're coming for an anniversary, a slow couples' weekend, or any trip where you'd rather cook dinner in and eat it on the porch than drive back into town.
If you love the idea of glamping but not the work: Blancobreeze
Blancobreeze is our fully outfitted glamping RV, and it's the answer to a specific wish: all the charm of camping in the Hill Country, none of the setup.
It's got a real kitchen, an electric fireplace, and a shaded deck that looks straight into the canyon. You don't tow anything, you don't level anything, you don't wonder if you packed enough. You show up. Everything is here. Book Blancobreeze if you want something a little different and memorable, if you're canyon-view people, and if the phrase "the fireplace is already inside" makes you happy.
If you're bringing your own rig: the Full-Hookup RV Sites
We've got six sites — pull-through and back-in — with 30/50-amp power, water, sewer, small fire pit w/grill rack, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our premium sites (1 and 5) come with a private picnic table & large fire pit.
Getting here is easy on big rigs: Wayside Drive is paved and RV-friendly the whole way in, and RV check-in starts at 2:00 PM. And here's the part that surprises people who are used to bare-bones parks — as an RV guest, you get everything the cottage guests get.
The pool. The pickleball court. The golf simulator. The pavilion with the stone fireplace. A lot of our RV guests come back. We also have a great fenced Dog Run!
The part that's the same no matter what you book
This is the thing to understand about Wayside: the accommodation is only half of it. The other half is the property everyone shares.
There's a pool and hot tub open seasonally, with lounge seating and canyon views from the water. A full-size pickleball court with paddles and balls provided — some of the best games happen between meals. A golf simulator in the clubhouse where you can play 18 holes without leaving, no matter the weather. And a covered pavilion with a stone fireplace, built for morning coffee, evening wine, and stargazing once the sky goes dark. There's very little light pollution out on the canyon, so bring a blanket and look up.
Oh, and two Miniature Highland brothers named Maverick & Goose live here. They're friendly, photogenic, and the unofficial welcoming committee. Say hi.
Five minutes from the Square, a world away from everything else
Wherever you land on the property, you're eight minutes from Blue Hole, five minutes from the shops and restaurants on Wimberley Square, and under an hour from San Antonio, New Braunfels, & Austin. Close enough to do everything, far enough to forget what day it is.
